He informed Simon that he had composed a song on parenting to share and that he hopes to use his career as a singer to support his family. He claimed that every night before bed, he sings the song to his children, and the audience lets out loud “ahhs.”
The audience applauded as the teacher began his funny song, which included lyrics about aging, toothpaste, tantrums, soiling pants, and the need for parents to drink. Ant said, “Hilarious,” at the end of his song, which had the judges all chuckling.
Then, in a Yorkshire accent, Simon said that he didn’t expect the song to be about “chicken nuggets every night,” but rather to be an emotional one. Andrew said, “I like how some of the audience think it is the best song they’ve ever heard; is this the best song you’ve ever heard?” when Alesha said it wasn’t the best song she’d ever heard, which caused the audience to boo loudly. Then there were thunderous applause from the crowd.
“I thought it was very funny, very relatable,” said Amanda, while Bruno said it made him laugh. When she asked him what else he had, he replied that he had songs about his awful wife and his obnoxious children.
Ant yelled, “Get in,” as he left the stage after Andrew garnered four yes votes. “You remind me of Peter Kay—a very early Peter Kay,” he added. You’re hilarious.
