Despite having to retrain her voice due to a stutter, Stacey Leadbetter, a contender on Britain’s Got Talent, received a Golden Buzzer from KSI on Saturday’s broadcast.
The 31-year-old YouTube sensation decided to send singing grocery clerk Stacey Leadbetter to the semi-finals after performing her cover of Leona Lewis’ popular song “Run.” The sizable Blackpool audience yelled, “Push the buzzer!” after her performance, and fellow judge Amanda Holden, 54, called her amazing.
Prior to competing on Britain’s Got Talent, Stacey had only given one performance and had to retrain her voice because of a speech problem. “It’s extremely difficult,” she remarked. I have a video of me singing that was recorded four or five years ago, but you were unable to understand it due to serious speech issues. I would utilize YouTube to watch adult speech therapy sessions during lockdown, and then I would incorporate those into my singing.
“I’ll start to revert back to how I was if I don’t do specific workouts for a few weeks at a time,” she adds.
