Bjarne, 10, provided one of The Voice’s most memorable auditions, singing Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved.” It’s difficult to believe the tremendous voice emanating from the small child onstage, who had a blind audition on The Voice Kids Germany last month. The lovely youngster entered the stage carrying a toy rabbit, yet his voice seemed much beyond his years.
Bjarne opened the song with a thunderous deep register before moving to a clean and lovely high range. Before Bjarne could even reach the chorus, the first judge pressed the buzzer, eliciting a frenzied joy from the singer’s family on the side of the stage. The other judges weren’t going to pass on this talent, and before the boy finished the chorus, all four judges had turned their chairs for him.
But Bjarne had a lot more up his sleeve. He hammered the huge note coming into the bridge with such emotion and strength that the judge Lena Meyer-Landrut was stunned and couldn’t pick her jaw up off the floor for some minutes. She subsequently described his voice as “sounds that are like from heaven.”
The boy just aced his audition, and everyone knew it. After the performance, the judges rushed onstage to offer Bjarne high fives, while Meyer-Landrut hugged him and yelled with happiness. It was a significant occasion for the little singer, who shed tears, as did his delighted mother. Later, Bjarne and Álvaro Soler performed a duet of Tom Odell’s “Another Love Song” with the judge playing the piano.
Fans couldn’t get enough of Bjarne, leaving comments like “Man, that brought a tear to my eye” beneath his audition video. Bjarne, you have a bright future. I look forward to hearing more from you,” and “This youngster is just extraordinary! What a voice! Sweet, innocent, and pure!”
The blind audition for “Someone You Loved” marks Bjarne’s first foray into the music industry, and he now has a bright future ahead of him. So yet, no additional performance videos from the young star have surfaced, but as the season progresses, we should expect to hear wonderful things about the boy.
