Loren Patterson’s performance went viral, garnering millions of views. A six-year-old who danced, clapped, and tapped her feet during a concert with her church choir has inspired people all around the world.
Loren Patterson, of Dickson, Tennessee, was caught on camera rocking out to Zach Williams’ “Old Church Choir” during a service on October 29.
Loren, a first-grader, was singing in the children’s choir, while her mother, Jennifer Patterson, was singing in the adult choir a few seats behind her.
“I could tell something was going on, but I couldn’t tell what it was,” Patterson told ABC News. “When I saw the video, I just couldn’t believe what she was doing.”
Patterson said she wasn’t shocked by her daughter’s dedication to the performance, even if it seemed surprising at the time.
“That is 100 percent her personality,” she told me. “She was just going with the Lord.”
Loren was performing in public with the First Baptist Church choir for the first time. Patterson stated that the family enjoys music and listens to Williams’ songs and Christian radio at home and in the vehicle.
One week later, the video has received over 35 million views on Facebook, with approximately 600,000 shares.
Patterson said she receives texts “all day” from individuals who were inspired by Loren’s joyous performance.
“I’ve gotten them from around the world, from people saying they’ve been blessed in one way or another,” she told me. “One I remember in particular was a woman who renewed her faith just because she felt the conviction when she watched the video.”
Patterson also spoke with Zach Williams’ wife, who stated that Loren is impacting many people’s lives via her performance.
Loren, who will play again at church later this month, seemed unconcerned with her own performance, according to Patterson.
