So, if you’re anything like our guy in the video below, you confront these young upstarts and show them what you’ve got. Street performers certainly know how to draw an audience, and it is not uncommon to encounter these enterprising artists on any street corner, arcade, park, or retail center at any time of day or night. After all, for some of these great individuals, the act is their sole source of income.
Any busker’s duty includes encouraging audience engagement, which may bring larger audiences and make the audience feel like they are a part of the fun. If you invite a child to assist you in your performance, you know you’ll have everyone’s attention, since the youngster will almost certainly steal the show from you.
When two highly good breakdancers were dancing in front of a huge crowd, they didn’t anticipate a grandfather to approach them and challenge them to a dance-off. The viewers could see what was coming, so an even larger throng gathered. The music began, a Nirvana tune, and the young upstarts assumed they had this old timer; after all, he had probably never heard of “Nirvana.” The granddad then hits the floor, displaying some remarkable movements.
Immediately, you could see the two young men spinning out; the expression on their faces was amazing; they were truly stunned by what this septuagenarian could accomplish with his physique. Then it was the first dancer’s chance to perform, so he hit the floor with some skills that Grandfather couldn’t match, but then out comes Granddad again, this time with some blazing moves that had the crowd right behind him.
The second dancer now confronts their opponent with floor spins and backbends that no one in the audience would attempt, but Grandfather, undaunted by the situation, hits the floor with some movements that left the audience in amazement. How can this man, in his 70s, be so agile?
At this point, the audience had firmly sided with Pop. Then, as soon as it began, he passed through the mob and returned to the mall. It is unclear who won the dance-off, but in the eyes of the audience, Grandfather had clearly demonstrated his abilities.
It only goes to show that you can never judge a book by its cover; you have to read a few pages to get a sense of the plot. I’m sure Granddad could tell you a few anecdotes from his younger days.
